OBITUARY — Douglas MacIntyre

The town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario is mourning the death of a valued member of the community. Douglas MacIntyre, president of Alex MacIntyre and Associates Ltd., died at the age of 41 years as a result of a traffic accident in Boca Raton, Florida on Tuesday, July 5th, 1994.

Mr. MacIntyre was a graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines, member of the PDAC and CIMM. He ran a successful contract mining company with partner Sydney McDougall, recently completing expansions of Inco’s Thompson Manitoba Mine. He was instrumental in developing projects in South America including Venezuela, Peru and Guyana. A true ambassador for Canadian mining expertise, he was involved in assembling one of the largest mining concessions in Ghana, Western Africa.

Doug will be dearly missed by family and many friends from Kirkland Lake and around the world.
