OBITUARY (November 25, 1991)

Noted consulting engineer Arthur Stewart Bayne died earlier this month. He was 81.

Born in England, Bayne graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont., with a degree in mining and metallurgy and later became a mining inspector at Thunder Bay, Ont.

After he left the Ontario government, he started his own consulting firm, A.S. Bayne and Co., in 1946 in Toronto, which was involved in numerous mining projects in North America and South America.

Bayne was a life member of the Engineers Club of Toronto.
