OBITUARY (December 09, 1991)

Veteran miner Malcolm “Curly” Alexander died recently in Red Lake, Ont. He was 79.

Born in Wakaw, Sask., Alexander began his mining career at Placer Dome’s Sigma mine in Val d’Or, Que., before he was transferred to Balmertown, Ont., as mine captain in 1948. He supervised the day-to-day operation of the Campbell Red Lake mine’s underground department until he retired in 1978.
