Noveder drills for gold at Abitibi

Noveder (NED-M) has hit narrow intersections of high-grade gold mineralization in three holes drilled at the Abitibi project near Val d’Or, Que.

Holes 19, 20 and 21 were drilled to verify the depth extension of the mineralized zone below the 200-metre level. They returned 12.39 grams gold per tonne over 1.23 metres, 14.02 grams over 1.1 metres and 10.73 grams over 0.7 metre, respectively.

Zone 1, as it is called, is associated with semi-massive to massive sulphides.

The host rock consists of sheared, highly chloritized and locally biotitized basalts and ultramafic volcanic units.

The first 21 holes at Abitibi, totalling nearly 4,587 metres, have confirmed the continuity of Zone 1, and Noveder has estimated the structure’s average weighted grade to be 11.29 grams gold over an average width of 1.15 metres.

The Rouyn-Noranda, Que.-based company also reports that holes 12, 13 and 15, drilled within the ultramafic rocks of the eastern part of the property, intersected a second zone of mineralization. Zone 2 is associated with disseminated to semi-massive magnetite with chalcopyrite and pyrite, and is defined over a length of 60 metres and to a vertical depth of 116 metres. The average weighted grade is 3.78 grams gold over an average width of 1.39 metres.
