NovaGold resumes drilling program

A 1,500-metre drilling program is under way at its Sears Lake and Sewell Brook properties in northern New Brunswick, reports operator NovaGold Resources (TSE).

The program is financed by Kennecott Canada, which has an option to earn a 60% interest in both properties by spending $5 million on exploration by March 31, 1994.

The Sears Lake drilling will focus on an area of coincident geochemical lead-zinc-copper anomalies and geophysical anomalies. The Sewell Brook program will follow up a 1990 intersection that returned high-grade massive sulphides.
