Northwest Mining Association conference set for winter

The Northwest Mining Association (NWMA) will hold its annual meeting Dec.

1-5 at the Doubletree Hotel in Spokane, Wash.

Entitled “Success and Innovation in Mining and Exploration,” the conference will explore new technology in environmental, geological and operational procedures.

Technical sessions offered at the convention will include: area and international reports; health and safety; geophysics; industrial minerals; and mining innovations.

The conference will also offer short courses, including: environmental issues, international business; photo remote sensing; and the mineral deposits of the Guiana and West African shields.

Other events include a core shack, student poster session and speakers, including: Senator Lawrence Craig of Idaho; Richard Lawson, president of the NWMA; and Norman Keevil, president of Teck.
