Drilling on the Guadalupe gold property in western Mexico is confirming the potential of the Zapote zone.
Northern Crown Mines’ (VSE) recent work has been confined to sections 4950N and 4900N and is expected to continue on section 5400N, with 25 holes planned for the northern part of the zone.
Previous work on Zapote — a wide, shallow-dipping, gold-bearing horizon — outlined a drill-inferred resource of 1.7 million tonnes grading 2.7 grams gold per tonne, based on 33 holes.
The drilling only covers about 30% of the zone’s estimated 1,000-metre strike length and Northern Crown hopes to cover much of the zone by drilling three or four holes on each 50-metre section, down to a depth of 100-150 metres. Drill results to date are as follows:
