Encouraging results are reported by Nordac Mining Corp. on the Goldstar gold property on Mt. Freegold, in central Yukon.
Nordac is in a joint venture on the property (66 2/3%), with Rexford Minerals, (33 1/3%).
Four of five shallow drill holes testing the open pit potential of one of the zones on the property — the Marguerite — returned intercepts ranging from 20 ft at a grade of 0.14 oz gold per ton, to 5 ft of 0.15 oz.
As well, says Nordac President James Stephen, bulldozing on the Augusta zone about 2,000 ft southeast of the Marguerite drill area exposed a new vein that appears to be an extension of the Marguerite zone.
Initial trench sampling across the 6.5-ft wide vein assayed 10.27 oz gold per ton, and 3 oz silver. A second sample across the same exposure returned 3 oz gold.
A second trench located 50 ft along strike intersected 0.57 oz gold across 7.6 ft., Mr Stephen said.
The new zone is currently being drill tested.
