More results have been released by Noranda Exploration from the Grew Creek discovery of Golden Nevada Resources 25 miles southeast of Faro, Yukon. The deposit has been tested for a strike length of approximately 1,550 ft and is still open in all directions, the joint venture notes.
The latest drill results included 39.3 ft grading 0.26 oz gold and 1.1 oz silver in hole No 87-38. Within that section was 14.7 ft of 0.52 oz gold and 2.3 oz silver. Put down approximately 500 ft to the east, hole No 87-39 returned 19.7 ft grading 1.6 oz gold including 4.9 ft of 5.4 oz. Encouraging results were also reported from another seven drill holes including 83.6 ft averaging 0.099 oz in No 87-35 which is near surface and probably mineable by open pit.
Prime Explorations is providing management and consulting services to Golden Nevada for the Grew Creek property. The former’s president, Chet Idziszek, concludes the joint venture has found a “nice orebody with great potential along strike.” He claims the greatest potential is towards the east but adds there is also potential to the west as well.
They are still testing the main zone around the discovery outcrop by close-spaced drilling and he says they are “still learning a lot about the deposit. We have two machines on the property and they are just going to continue drilling.”
Magnetometer and induced polarization survey work are under way to the east across Grew Creek valley and they will start drilling there after results from this work are available. One or possibly two drills will be used for this program.
