The primary magnesium production plant owned by Noranda in Asbestos, Que., will be the focus of the next luncheon of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, to be held Oct. 22 at 12:30 p.m. at the Ontario Club in Toronto.
Michael Avedesian, Noranda’s senior vice-president of magnesium, will speak about the $750-million plant and its proprietary processing method whereby serpentine tailings provide source material.
