Drilling by Noranda Exploration on a property shared with Destiny Resources has intersected a gold mineralized zone 65 miles east of Timmins, Ont. Known as the Windjammer project, the property covers an iron formation unit striking for 9,200 ft.
Drilling in the hangingwall of the iron formation cut 31.2 ft grading 0.272 oz gold per ton in the first hole. This section includes 8.2 ft grading 0.4 oz and 7.6 ft assaying 0.51 oz A second hole intersected 9.9 ft grading 0.42 oz and 3.3 ft assaying 0.147 oz. Another section in the second hole intersected 6.6 ft which assayed 0.318 oz. Assays are cut to one oz, Destiny reports.
Results from the second hole came from a section of the Destor Porcupine fault associated with carbonate alteration. Galveston Explorations provides Destiny with management and consulting services. Murray Pezim, chairman of Destiny, is also associated with Galveston.
