Noranda, Freewest continue drilling

The latest drilling results from the Lightning gold zone in northeastern Ontario of Noranda (TSE) and Freewest Resources (TSE) continue to enhance the project’s potential. The Lightning zone is situated on the contiguous Holloway and Teddy Bear properties in Harker and Holloway twps. The Holloway project is a joint venture between Noranda, the operator, and Freewest. The Teddy Bear project is being optioned from Teddy Bear Valley Mines (COATS); Noranda, Freewest and Teddy Bear are joined by Newmont Mining in this venture.

Among the intersections reported from the Holloway property are 82.7 ft. of 0.22 oz. gold per ton (cut and uncut) from hole 62X; 50.2 ft. of 0.34 oz. (cut), or 0.35 oz. (uncut), from hole 78W; and 77.8 ft. of 0.29 oz. (cut and uncut) from hole 130.

From the Teddy Bear property, the partners intersected 84.9 ft. of 0.34 oz. (cut and uncut) from hole 110W.

In addition to the above drilling, two new holes have been completed east of hole 130 with encouraging results.
