NMA names new leader

Denver — John (Jack) Gerard will replace Richard Lawson as president and chief executive officer of the Washington, D.C.-based National Mining Association.

Gerard is chairman and CEO of the firm McClure, Gerard & Neuenschwander, and helped organize the Mineral Resource Alliance.

“Gerard brings a wealth of experience and government-relations expertise to the job,” says NMA Chairman Steven Leer. “His wide experience on Capitol Hill will allow him to make significant contributions to the mining industry.”

Gerard is a graduate of George Washington University, with a bachelor’s degree in political science, as well as a law degree.
