An agreement with Major General Resources (VSE) gives Kennecott Canada an option to earn a 60% interest in the McVean property in the Pickle Lake district of northwestern Ontario.
To earn the interest, Kennecott must spend $1 million by the end of 1995. Major General will be the initial operator; a 1,500-metre program is planned for the near future.
Drilling in 1991 on the property by Major General intersected 0.5 metres grading 24 grams gold per tonne within an 80-metre-wide iron formation. The iron formation is anomalous in gold throughout, Major General says.
