Tiomin Resources (TIO-T) and its joint-venture partner, the Quebec Crown corporation Soquem, have discovered several nickel-bearing, disseminated and massive sulphide targets at the Annic project north of Sept-Iles, Que.
The joint venture, managed by Soquem, was formed in 1995 to explore for nickel-copper-cobalt deposits in the Grenville geological province. The partners hold more than 6,720 ha in the region, with additional claims staked recently to cover geophysical targets.
Sampling at the Annic project returned values of up to 1.53% nickel, 0.88% copper and 0.01% cobalt. Tiomin notes that these values are in addition to previously announced grab samples from the Fortin claim block, which returned values of up to 1.87% nickel, 1.21% copper and 0.2% cobalt, and 1.03% nickel, 5.1% copper and 0.2% cobalt.
A second-phase program, targeting seven zones which Tiomin describes as “highly prospective,” is under way. Trenching and sampling will be followed by drilling.
