Drilling will soon begin on Stroud Resources’ (TSE) Hislop Twp. gold property near Timmins, Ont.
The program will be carried out at the Creek zone where preliminary reserves total one million tons grading 0.186 oz. gold per ton. The goal is to expand on the results from Hole 250 which returned 0.22 oz. gold over a true width of 17.21 ft. This intersection appears to correspond to the gold zone encountered at the southern edge of the Creek zone, 524 ft. to the northwest.
Stroud believes parallels exist between the Creek zone and the nearby Lightning zone at the Holloway project of Hemlo Gold Mines (TSE), Freewest Resources (TSE) and Teddy Bear Valley Mines (CDN). The Lightning zone contains five million tons grading 0.25 oz. gold. Like it, the Creek zone is in altered volcanics close to an ultramafic body and appears to increase in grade with depth.
