An option agreement covering 41 claims in Quebec’s Gaspe Peninsula, about 40 km northwest of Murdochville, has been signed by Soquem with three prospectors.
Soquem, the mining exploration arm of the Quebec government, said recent trenching uncovered a copper zone about 200 metres in length and 0.5-2 metres in width. The former producing Madeleine mine sits about 10 km to the south. Winter field work is planned by Soquem, which optioned the property from Gerard Gagne, Bertrand Gagne and Dan Jauvin.
