Ontario Hydro recently presented Donald Brisbois, manager of Placer Dome’s (TSE) Dona Lake mine, an incentive cheque for over $37,000.
Under a Savings by Design Program offered by Hydro, the Dona Lake mine updated its heating system to recover heat that was formerly wasted. With the new system, it is estimated that the mine will save more than $50,000 per year in energy costs.
The Hydro rebates, available to everyone, are designed to offset the cost of installing energy efficient equipment.
