NEWS ROUNDUP — Phelps Dodge options Curator ground

Copper giant Phelps Dodge (NYSE) has agreed to earn a 51% interest in International Curator Resources’ (VSE) DSA property in Idaho.

To do so, Phelps must spend US$2.5 million over six years and pay Curator US$255,000 by May 15, 1998.

Phelps is drilling previously defined targets. Previous drilling encountered base metals in varying amounts, with the best intersection returning 16 ft. at 0.75% lead, 3.06% zinc and 0.29 oz. silver per ton.
