NEWS ROUNDUP — Ontario suffers drop in spending

Exploration and development expenditures in Ontario dropped by 31% to an estimated $300.8 million in 1992, according to the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines.

General and mine-site exploration spending fell by 11%, to an estimated $98.1 million last year from $109.7 million in 1991.

Since 1990, there has been a 48% decline in exploration and development expenditures in the province.
