The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners has refused to issue a land use permit to Minerva Explorations for a gold property in South Dakota.
The Johnson Gulch property, 5 miles west of Lead, contains 6.5 million tons grading 0.04 oz. gold per ton.
The permit is necessary for ore to be mined and transported to the Richmond Hill mill.
Minerva, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Naneco Minerals (ASE), plans to appeal the decision to the state’s District Court.
