Junior Greater Lenora Resources (TSE) has cancelled plans to explore 237 sq. km near Aden, the capital of South Yemen.
Instead, it has obtained an exploration licence for 73 sq. km in the west-central part of the country and a prospecting licence for 9,500 sq. km north of Aden.
The exploration area is underlain by Tertiary volcanics with extensive silicious sinters, silica breccias and associated alunite and kaolin alteration. Grab samples from the sinters indicate gold, arsenic, mercury and antimony anomalies.
The prospecting area consists of a faulted block of sedimentary and metamorphic rocks later cut by Tertiary volcanics. Samples from altered rocks along the fault zones are also anomalous in gold, arsenic, mercury and antimony.
