Toronto-listed Jordex Resources has augmented its South American holdings by acquiring, through a wholly owned subsidiary, two concessions in the central Brazilian Shield.
The Pontes E Lacerda concession includes four properties in western Mato Grosso state. Three of these are on the southern extension of St. Elina’s San Vicente property, which is producing 50,000 oz. gold per year. The fourth, which is north of the Lavrinha gold deposit, is under an initial 6-month-free option. Jordex can acquire it by paying $900,000 over two years. The second concession, Aripuana-Sucunduri, extends across northwestern Mato Grosso state and into the south of Amazonas state. The area features geological conditions that are known to host gold mineralization.
