NEWS ROUNDUP — Hughes Lang Group merger

Three of four junior companies within the Hughes Lang Group have agreed to amalgamate and form a new company, CanGold Resources.

Shareholders met Dec. 29 to vote on a proposal to amalgamate Hughes Lang (VSE), Orofino Resources (TSE), Equity Reserve (TSE) and Nova-Cogesco Resources (TSE).

The plan was approved by all except Nova-Cogesco. A notice of dissent was received from a shareholder holding 11.5% of the outstanding shares of that company.

The meeting was to have adjourned Jan. 14, thereby allowing Nova-Cogesco’s directors some time to consider if the company should be continued. Shareholders will also be asked to consider, and possibly vote on, a resolution to approve the amalgamation.
