NEWS ROUNDUP — Goldstream reserve boosted

A recalculation of minable reserves at the Goldstream mine near Revelstoke, B.C., has resulted in a 26% increase over estimates made last November.

Bethlehem Resources (TSE) and Goldnev Resources (VSE), joint-owners of the underground copper-zinc mine, now estimate minable reserves at 1.4 million tonnes grading 4.48% copper and 3.03% zinc, up from the November, 1992, estimate of 1.1 million tonnes grading 4.32% copper and 2.81% zinc. About 840,000 tonnes are above the 350-metre level, with the remainder below, between 350 and 100 metres.

Mining is suspended while the joint venture reviews its mining and development methods in an attempt to lower costs (T.N.M., May 17/93).
