NEWS ROUNDUP — Freewest to test high-grade zones

Drilling to test known mineralized zones as well as recently located geophysical anomalies is scheduled to begin on its Verneuil Twp., Que., property in mid-November, says Golden Tag Resources (VSE).

The junior, in partnership with operator Freewest Resources (TSE) and Consolidated Gold Hawk Resources (ASE), has stripped two separate gold showings on the property. Grab samples have assayed up to 0.85 oz. gold per ton in the western trench and 0.45 oz. gold in the eastern trench. A third high-grade showing has been located 1,000 ft. north of the western trench. Golden Tag’s interests in Verneuil Twp., north of Val d’Or, Que., extend to 283 claims. The company recently staked an additional 44 claims on strike and southwest of the discovery.
