A hole drilled while testing for electromagnetic anomalies on the Fox Stimson property, 70 km northeast of Timmins, Ont., has intersected three mineralized zones, reports Cross Lake Minerals (VSE).
Noranda (TSE), as operator, is earning a 70% interest in the 23-claim property by paying Cross Lake $22,500 and spending $200,000. Hole PT 93-2 intersected anomalous zinc values over 67 metres of felsic volcanics, including 8.2 metres grading 1.29% zinc in one zone. Holes 93-1 and 93-3 also carried anomalous zinc values. Follow-up work is planned. Meanwhile, US Platinum has acquired an option to earn half of Cross Lake’s property in Duff Twp., 20 miles northeast of the Kidd Creek mine, by paying $15,000 and spending $100,000 on exploration over two years. Cross Lake says the property has potential for base metals, precious metals and diamonds.
