NEWS ROUNDUP — Columbia encouraged by drilling

The first hole drilled this season by Columbia Gold Mines (VSE) on the Spectrum gold property in the Iskut River area of British Columbia returned an 8.5-ft. intersection grading 1 oz. gold per ton from the East Creek gold zone.

The zone was discovered late last year and has not seen any prior drilling. It has now been traced on surface by prospecting, trenching and geochemical surveys along a length of 2,000 ft.

Assays are awaited for two more holes drilled in this zone where gold mineralization is hosted within a structurally controlled quartz-sulphide system within altered volcanic rocks.

The zone occurs 5,000 ft. along trend and north of the QC and Porphyry zones where last year’s drilling was focused.
