Calgary-based junior Champion Bear Resources (ASE) has acquired a 100% interest in the Swimit gold prospect in McAree Twp., 25 miles east of Dryden, Ont.
The property, with two patented and 143 unpatented mining claims, contains three gold zones: the main, west and G-43 zones.
In the main zone, stripping has exposed shear-hosted quartz veins along 2,950 ft. of strike length. The zone is 1.6-16.4 ft. wide and mineralized with galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite and pyrite. Twenty-six samples collected from a 540-ft.-long section of the main zone averaged 1.65 oz. gold per ton across 2.4 ft.
The west zone is a parallel structure to the main zone and has returned chip sample values up to 0.21 oz. gold. The G-43 zone is along strike to the south of the main zone and has yielded grab sample values up to 3.4 oz. gold. All of the mineralized zones are open along strike.
