NEWS ROUNDUP — Aurizon, Cambiex detect anomaly

An anomaly has been detected on the east-central part of the Dormex gold property of Aurizon Mines (TSE) and Cambiex Exploration (ME) which surrounds the Sleeping Giant mine near Amos, Que.

Close to bedrock, Hole 16 intersected a 1.5-metre interval containing 110 gold grains. Based on an examination of the grains under a microscope and the discovery of anomalous concentrations in three additional nearby holes, the companies say there is a high probability of uncovering a gold-bearing structure close to Hole 16.

The companies have completed a 145-hole overburden drilling program. Cambiex, a subsidiary of Cambior, is funding the work as part of its $1.5-million commitment to earn a half interest in the property.

Cambiex plans a 7,000-metre drill program.
