Cambior Inc. (TSE) has expanded into California. The company has acquired a 50% interest in a 950-acre property which covers a section of the famed Mother Lode structure. The purchase price was $500,000 (US).
The property, located 70 miles southeast of Sacramento, includes a deposit with reserves of 1.6 million tons grading 0.069 oz gold per ton. This reserve is amenable to open pit mining.
Nortek Energy has changed its name to Nortek Capital Corp. on a share-for-share basis. There is no change of symbol.
Tenajon Silver Corp. has changed its name to Tenajon Resources Corp. (TJS:VSE) on a share-for-share basis.
MacMillan Energy Corp. has changed its name to MacMillan Gold Corp. (MMG:VSE) on a share- for-share basis.

SouthernEra Resources (TSE) is drilling two platinum prospects in Ontario. At the Angle Bay project near Lac des Iles, the company and partner American Platinum (VSE) have completed 4,645 ft of drilling. Core has been sent for assay.
On the Entwine project, located 40 miles south of Dryden, a 3,000-ft drill program is scheduled to begin this month. The drilling will test a 6,500-ft long zone which has yielded assays up to 0.058 oz platinum group metals per ton.
Consolidated Norex Resources Corp. has changed its transfer agent to Montreal Trust Co.
