Newmont plans more drilling at Ithingo

Mobilization will begin this month, with geophysics and diamond drilling scheduled to commence in the first week of February. Two diamond drills will complete a minimum of 8,000 ft prior to spring break-up.

Drilling will focus on the main Buller zone, the Sterny zone and six other targets. The Buller zone was the target of Newmont’s fall program which totalled 4,056 ft. The Sterny zone, discovered last year, lies two miles west of the Buller zone.

The Ithingo Lake gold project is operated by Newmont under a joint venture between Claude Resources (TSE), which has a 30% interest and Newmont a 70% interest.
