Newhawk plans more drilling to test R-8 zone

Because R-8 is providing high grade values over appreciable widths in an area near existing workings, Newhawk is optimistic the structure will provide a boost in reserves that could be the deciding factor to a positive production decision.

The R-8 zone is still open in all directions and is believed to possibly be related to the adjacent UTC zone which also returned high grade gold an d silver va lues.

According to President Don McLeod, the current drill program is verifying the continuity of the West zone at and below the 1200 level. Selected results from t his drilling include: 11.3 ft of 0.703 oz gold and 7.64 oz silver; 13.6 ft of 0. 639 oz gold and 12.16 oz silver; 15.3 ft of 1.451 oz gold and 1.53 oz silver; 31.5 ft of 3.939 oz gold and 17.28 oz silver.

Other notable results are: 15.5 ft of 1.149 oz gold and 32.99 oz silver; 6.6 ft of 2.012 oz gold and 109.25 oz silver; 29.9 ft of 0.819 oz gold and 9.87 oz si lver and 9.8 ft of 6.570 oz gold and 4.46 oz silver per ton.

Newhawk has a 60% interest in the Sulphurets project while Granduc Mines (TSE) has a 40% interest.
