Drilling is to begin shortly on the Glover Island gold property in central Newfoundland.
The 9,800-13,100-ft. program will primarily test the Lunch Pond South Extension zone where a hole drilled late in 1992 (LPSE-4) returned 0.07 oz. gold per ton across 176.5 ft. (and which included 0.2 oz. gold over 35 ft.). Partners New Island Minerals (ASE) and Newfoundland Goldbar Resources (CDN) are also planning geophysical, geological and soil geochemical surveys to delineate the zone further.
Goldbar, which is earning a 50.1% interest from New Island, is the operator.
