In the first hole of a drill program at the Dummondville project in Quebec, New Goldcore Ventures (ME) has intersected several mineralized zones.
The drilling is being carried out on the company’s 13-claim Riviere Noire portion of the project. (Prior to drilling, surface samples returned assays varying from 2% to 13% copper and 12 to 84 grams silver per tonne.) The first hole was drilled to a depth of 792 ft. and intersected a fault which averaged 1% copper over a 10-ft. interval. This interval included a 5-ft. section averaging 2.04% copper and a 3-ft. section of 3.38% copper. A second zone, averaging 0.9% copper, was encountered at a depth of 729 ft. Additional drilling will define these structures further.
Meanwhile, drilling at New Goldcore’s six other properties was to have commenced by presstime. All exploration costs are being financed by means of a $1.2-million issue of flow-through shares.
