Limited exploration on the newly discovered “P zone” at Central Crude’s (TSE) Eagle River property in the Mishibishu Lake area of Ontario has returned some encouraging results. While the best channel sample returned an assay of 0.41 oz. gold per ton over 23 ft., two shallow holes intersected 15 ft. grading 0.13 oz. and 9.8 ft. grading 0.15 oz. respectively.
The P zone is about 800 ft. south of the No. 2 zone, which lies just east of the main Eagle River deposit. Through stripping and trenching, Central Crude has traced the sheared structure for about 1,150 ft. over an average width of 16 ft.
Having completed four holes in an attempt to define the strike and dip of the new zone, Central Crude says the structure will require further drilling.
The Eagle River project is a joint venture between Central Crude, with a 40% interest, and Hemlo Gold Mines (TSE). Preliminary reserves stand at 1.77 million tons grading 0.25 oz.
