New CaribGold showing in Cuba

Surface work at the Sierra Maestra Oriental gold concession in eastern Cuba has uncovered a new discovery, CaribGold Resources (TSE) reports.

Mapping and airborne geophysics, along with rock sampling, indicate a structurally complex, altered, volcanic environment covering about 20 sq. km.

High gold and silver assays have been collected, including up to 60 grams gold per tonne. Chip sampling from five channels in one area returned significant gold and silver assays.

CaribGold recently completed its first full year of regional exploration on the Caribbean island. It has evaluated more than 270 known showings. In addition to trenching and airborne survey work, the company completed 6,000 metres of drilling on 10 prospects.

The company is focusing on finishing its regional work commitment and selecting targets for detailed exploration.
