New board members

Three new appointments have been made to the British Columbia Mineral Tax Review Board, which hears appeals on taxes levied under the Mineral Tax Act from owners of mines in the province.

The 3-year appointments are: — Lawrence Fast, appointed chairman, who has a legal, administrative and land-use background;

— Sandra Smaill, who has a legal background in litigation, compensation and property assessment appeal boards; and

— Anthony Turco, a chartered accountant with experience in tax reassessments and government loans and grants.
