In recent years, Hemlo Gold Mines (HEM-T) has focused its Nevada exploration effort on the Battle Mountain-Eureka district, where areas with potential for sediment-hosted gold deposits have been identified.
The company has also acquired an extensive land position in the Manhattan district and is embarking on an initial 3-year program to explore one of the last remaining historical mining districts that has not been subjected to modern-day exploration techniques.
Earlier this year, Hemlo and Battle Mountain Gold (BMG-T) announced plans to merge, effective sometimes in late June.
