A review of historical exploration data from the Moongold and Cottonwood projects has prompted Golden Peaks Resources (GL-V) to acquire additional claims at both Nevada projects.
The Moongold property, in Washoe Cty., 25 miles northeast of Reno, contains a volcanic-hosted, gold-bearing zone that yielded encouraging results from previous surface sampling.
The 11 new claims were staked to cover the northern extension of the Main zone, as well as two bleached and argillized zones in the hangingwall of the Main zone.
The Cottonwood property is 10 miles north of the Pipeline and South Pipeline gold deposits.
Previous drilling on Cottonwood intersected up to 0.1 oz. gold per ton over 20 ft.
The 53 new claims were staked to cover prospective geology in the footwall of the Crescent fault.
An program of diamond drilling and trenching will begin in July.
