Nevada Pacific drills silver project

Nevada Pacific Gold (NPG-V) has launched a first phase of drilling at the Amador Canyon silver project in Lander Cty., Nev.

The 10,000-ft., reverse-circulation program will focus on numerous gossanous zones and historic workings, none of which has been drilled. The targets were determined by surface mapping, rock-chip geochemistry and geophysics.

The silver mineralization is associated with both carbon and sulphides. Values of 8-125 oz. silver per ton were returned from samples of outcrop containing carbon, and 10-75 oz. silver in outcrop containing sulphides.

The drilling is expected to last until late May or mid-June. The main target is a bulk-tonnage, disseminated/stockwork-type silver deposit amenable to open-pit mining.
