Having secured funding from its partners, White Knight Resources (WKR-V) is exploring for gold at both ends of Nevada’s Carlin trend.
The Vancouver-based company currently has two drilling programs at the north and south of the prolific gold trend. To the north, between Euro and Franco-Nevada Mining’s Ken Snyder mine and Cornucopia’s Ivanhoe project, White Knight
is drilling the Squaw Creek property with Chapleau Resources (CHI-V). The current work program, which began in mid-May, includes both
reverse-circulation and core drilling. In total, the partners will drill 10,000 ft., testing three targets for deep Carlin-style mineralization in carbonate rocks of the Popovich and Roberts Mountain formations, as well as shallow vein-style mineralization hosted in volcanic rocks of the Valmy Formation.
The drilling is expected to wrap up by the end of May.
Chapleau is earning a 50% interest in Squaw Creek by spending $1.5 million on exploration.
In the southern Carlin trend, between the Quarry and Rain mines of Newmont Gold, White Knight and International Pursuit (IPJ-T) are drilling the Tonka property. Drilling, which began in early May and is expected to total 8,500 ft., will test four targets for high-angle structures in the Webb and Devil’s Gate formations. The work is also expected to be complete by the end of May.
International Pursuit is earning a 50% interest in the Tonka property.
