Nebex to acquire Albanian deposits

In Albania, Nebex Resources (ASE) will acquire 11 copper deposits within the 400-sq.-km Mirdita concession held by state-owned Albanian Copper.

The volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits, including four marginal mines, contain 44 million tonnes averaging 1.5% copper. Nebex hopes to expand this reserve and investigate undeveloped zinc, gold and silver mineralization.

Nebex President Brian Douglas believes the deposits, which are distributed at intervals of 1.6-3.2 km, could be developed into a single mine.

A formal agreement is subject to a due diligence review by Nebex and delivery of clear title by Albanian Copper.
