NDT, Takla put their money on Nos. 61 and 44

Drilling is under way on Project 61, about 7 km southwest of the Voisey Bay discovery in Labrador.

Two separate drill targets have been identified on the project, a joint venture between NDT Ventures (VSE) and Takla Star Resources (ASE).

On the North zone target, airborne and ground geophysics identified an east-northeast-striking conductor, as well as a large gossan several hundred metres south of the conductor. Chip sampling on the gossan returned grades averaging 330 parts per million (ppm) nickel and 415 ppm copper.

The gossan and geophysical anomalies will be tested with at least three holes.

An additional four holes will test a series of sulphide-rich gossans in anorthosite on the South target.

Rock sampling from these gossans returned values of up to 1.86% nickel, 0.95% copper and 0.165% cobalt.

Drilling is also planned on the joint venture’s Project 44, which lies immediately west of the town of Nain. Drill permits are in hand, but the companies do not plan to start a program until the concerns of the town’s residents have been addressed.

A detailed max-min survey identified a strong conductor on Project 44 over a newly discovered nickel-copper-mineralized zone.

Trenching of weathered massive sulphides on the western end of the zone returned an average grade of 0.74% nickel, 1.13% copper and 0.104% cobalt over an average exposed width of 6 metres.
