London, England-based Namibian Minerals (NMR-T) has sold its first parcel of diamonds from its coastal operations in Namibia.
The 5,093 carats of diamonds were sold in Antwerp, Belgium, for US$913,388, at an average of $US$179.31 per carat.
The stones were recovered from the Luderitz Bay and Hottentot Bay properties.
The parcel excluded all stones of more than two carats, apart from one 10.23-carat stone that sold for US$25,575. These larger stones, together with “fancy” colored stones, are being accumulated for a separate sale.
