Assays from five infill holes at the Agua Rica porphyry deposit in Argentina continue to confirm earlier results.
Situated in Catamarca province, the deposit is being explored by a 30-70 joint venture between Northern Orion Explorations (NNO-T) and BHP Minerals International.
Results are as follows:
Hole 94 intersected 330 metres from surface grading 0.47% copper and 0.039% molybdenum, plus 0.28 gram gold and 1.4 grams silver per tonne, including 149 metres grading 0.66% copper, 0.037% moly, 0.28 gram gold and 1.2 grams silver; hole 95 returned 369 metres from surface grading 1.01% copper, 0.026% moly, 0.45 gram gold and 1.5 grams silver, including 270 metres of 1.22% copper, 0.025% moly, 0.47 gram gold and 1.4 grams silver; hole 96 hit 81.5 metres grading 0.96% copper, 0.035% moly, 0.26 gram gold and 2 grams silver; hole 97 intersected 351 metres from surface grading 0.45% copper, 0.007% moly, 0.16 gram gold and 3.2 grams silver; hole 98 hit 254 metres from surface of 0.92% copper, 0.037% moly, 0.38 gram gold and 3.5 grams silver, including 115 metres grading 1.46% copper, 0.044% moly, 0.44 gram gold and 3.6 grams silver; and hole 99 intersected 216.5 metres from surface grading 0.54% copper, 0.013% moly, 0.26 gram gold and 4.5 grams silver, including 101.5 metres at 1.04% copper, 0.011% moly, 0.15 gram gold and 2.6 grams silver.
Results from hole 93 confirm the presence of copper mineralization 394 metres south of hole 55, which was drilled on the southern perimeter of the Trampeadero area. The hole returned: 67 metres grading 0.02% copper, 0.031% moly, 0.14 gram gold and 2.1 grams silver; 38 metres grading 0.39% copper, 0.032% moly, 0.11 gram gold and 1.7 grams silver; and 132 metres of 0.17% copper, 0.023% moly, 0.08 gram gold and 1.7 grams silver.
Northern Orion estimates the deposit contains a resource of 1.2 billion tonnes grading 0.5% copper and 0.22 gram gold, plus moly and silver credits.
