Definition drilling on the Escondida high-grade zone at the Mulatos project in Sonora state, Mexico, has returned more good intersections for Alamos Gold (AGI-T).
Alamos is doing both infill and step-out drilling on the zone, which is being explored in advance of production from Mulatos’s known, low-grade open pit resource. So far, Escondida is about 165 metres in strike length and about 75 metres wide.
The most recent drilling, all done by reverse circulation, returned mineralized intervals of mainly 5 metres to 18 metres length, though there were some wider intersections. Grades were highly variable; some intersections averaged only a gram or two, while others showed high “bonanza”-style epithermal grades.
Among the better intersections were 13.7 metres grading 39.8 grams per tonne and 10.7 metres grading 60.2 grams per tonne.
