A celebration of Mort Brown’s life will be held in Toronto on Thurs., July 10, 2008, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Ontario Club, 12th floor, 1 King St. West.
Mort Brown was a long-time editor and publisher of The Northern Miner, and died on June 24, 2008, in his 96th year.
Mort’s son Russ Brown and Mort’s daughter Sandra Puley would like those attending to share any anecdotes about Mort they might have (and there have to be many!)
Also, if you have a good photo of Mort, please bring it with you and it will be pinned up for all to see.
For those unfamiliar with this location, Russ suggests the entrance on Melinda St. (one block south of King West) provides the simplest access to the correct elevator to the 12th floor.
For catering purposes, if planning to attend, please send an e-mail to cmhf.info@sympatico.ca.
Donations in Mort Brown’s memory may be made directly to The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame or through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, ON, tel. (519) 745-8445, or www.erbgood.com.
