More good results from Westmin’s Myra Falls drilling

Ongoing drilling by Westmin Resources (TSE) returned more good assay results from the company’s Myra Falls mine property near Campbell River, B.C.

Westmin is exploring a previously untested area near its H-W and Lynx underground mines which together make up the Myra Falls mining operation. The mine has been producing for 25 years.

The latest hole drilled at Myra Falls, 15-450, encountered the ore zone about 15 metres (49.2 ft.) north of the discovery hole which returned impressive values in zinc, copper, lead, gold and silver well above the average grades currently being mined.

Hole 15-450 returned three intersections, the best being 15.6 metres (51.1 ft.) grading 1.2 grams (0.035 oz.) gold and 140 grams (4.0 oz.) silver per tonne, 2% copper, 1.5% lead and 22.8% zinc.

The hole also returned 10.6 metres (34.7 ft.) grading 0.8 grams (0.023 oz.) gold and 80 grams (2.3 oz.) silver, plus 2.3% copper, 0.2% lead and 6.6% zinc, and 10.9 metres (35.7 ft.) of 0.4 gram (0.012 oz.) gold and 23 grams (0.67 oz.) silver, 1.2% copper, 0.3% lead and 4.8% zinc. Another infill hole is being drilled on this section.

As well, Westmin reported that hole 14-717 encountered “high-grade massive sulphides over a core length of 26 metres (85.3 ft.) which look very similar to those in the discovery hole which hit the ore about 18 metres (59 ft.) to the south.”

Assays from this hole are expected shortly.
