Vancouver-based Skylark Resources (VSE) has encountered some more gold showings during sampling at its Finlay River project in British Columbia’s Toodoggone gold camp.
The Finlay River project is part of a 23,000-acre land package which Skylark holds under various option agreements in the Toodoggone camp. According to company spokesman Frank Kelly, it will be the focus of an intensive exploration and drilling program during the latter half of this year.
The company says two grab samples from a 15 x 50-ft outcrop called the “Electrum zone” assayed at 0.276 oz gold per ton, 31.30 oz silver, 0.209 oz gold, and 35.48 oz silver.
Located west of Skylark’s Beaverdam discoveries, the Electrum zone possesses all the characteristics of the Toodoggone epithermal gold- silver system, Kelly said.
Like the Beaverdam zone, Electrum is also earmarked for drilling this month. Skylark is earning a 50% working interest on the claims from three prospectors (the Firesteel Syndicate).
Under additional agreements with Cheni Gold Mines (ME) and Asitka Resources (VSE), the company is also earning in the Wrich Nos 1 to 3 claims and the Grace 1 to 3 claims respectively.
Detailed sampling of the the multi-vein system in Cheni Gold’s Wrich zone is under way. “These veins vary in width from 1 ft to 10 ft on surface,” said Kelly.
Contained within an area 1,500 ft wide by 600 ft in length, they dip vertically and are open along strike.
